About Us

Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. is a two unit community based, non-profit, Incorporated Association with a Parent Management Committee.  We are licensed for 40,  3-5 year old children per day,  with 20 children in each class group.

Our opening hours are 8.15am – 3.45pm, NSW Department of Education School Terms.  Priority shall be given to all children who turn 4 years old before 1st August of their preschool year.

Our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and will be developed through the children’s interests, ideas, strengths and needs.

Attendance Days

2 days – Monday/Tuesday  or  Thursday/Friday

3 days – Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday  or  Wednesday/Thursday/Friday

History

In 1957 Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. opened their doors at the Girl Guide Hall on Old Castle Hill Road. Twenty children attended under the guidance of a trained teacher and an untrained assistant. During 1958 an extension was added to the building to try and improve the environment for the children.

Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. was the first community based, non-profit centre in the area.

In 1962 an allotment of land from Baulkham Hills Council was granted to Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. to further the aims of kindergarten education. The building was opened on Terminus Street licensed for 40 children per day.

In 2003, Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. was relocated due to the Terminus Street bypass development, to a new purpose built council building at Greenup Park, 139A Cecil Avenue, Castle Hill. This is our present location.

Our Team

Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc has qualified, experienced and dedicated educators. We are fortunate to have long serving team members who have established relationships and reputations with families in the community. Our educators are committed to high quality pre-school education and as a team facilitate the pre-school’s motto of “Learning with Laughter”.

Within our class rooms, our team members consist of:

  • University Qualified Early Childhood Teacher
  • Diploma of Children’s Services Educator
    (undertaking University qualifications)
  • Certificate III Educator

With additional support provided by:

  • University Qualified Early Childhood Teacher
  • Certificate III Educator

Throughout the children’s day, there is 2½ – 3 educators working within each class.

Parent Management Committee

A Parent Management Committee is made up of volunteers from the parents of children who are attending Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc.

Castle Hill Pre-School Kindergarten Inc. is an incorporated body, therefore we are required to have a Parent Management Committee to discuss the general operation of the pre-school and work closely with the Nominated Supervisor/Director.

There are a number of key positions on the committee – President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as general committee positions.

The Annual General Meeting is held in March.
